As an international central securities depository (ICSD) headquartered in Luxembourg, Clearstream Banking S.A. operates the post-trading business – i.e. issuance, settlement and custody – for the Eurobond market and services for securities from over 55 domestic markets worldwide.

 

Field of activity

As “Liquidity Risk Officer ” you will collaborate with the QLR management team in their day-to-day monitoring of the intraday liquidity risk situation. In case of unforeseen and potentially uncovered liquidity shortfalls, following any individual or combined default among its participants, you will be responsible for the execution of exceptional recovery measures, such as monetizing non-defaulting participants’ assets to overcome the liquidity gap. 
 
Tasks/responsibilities

  • Participate in the day-to-day work of the new QLR Management team (monitor liquidity, analyze key indicators, identify liquidity risks, follow up on risks, generate reports, mitigate liquidity risks)
  • Develop and enhance the operational tools used by the team to measure, monitor, mitigate and report the intraday liquidity risks
  • Design, implement and adapt policies and procedures, especially due to changes to the regulatory framework, market conditions or products/services
  • Reassess from time to time the efficiency of QLR Management framework, maintain related system settings and make recommendations for enhancements
  • For the purpose of testing and continuously improving the processes, develop and carry out fire drills and liquidity stress simulations with internal and external stakeholders on a regular/ ad-hoc basis
  • Close collaboration with related departments such as Credit, Treasury, Default Management

Qualifications/required skills

  • University degree in Business Administration, Finance or related 
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in a financial institution back-office or as functional analyst in the securities industry
  • Good understanding of risk management, related regulatory topics, CSD-R
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, team player with a positive and pro-active attitude
  • Competent handling of MS Office (in particular MS Excel, MS World and MS Power Point)
  • Team player and excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory. French and/or German language skills will be an asset
