With more than €14 trillion in assets under custody, Clearstream is one of the world’s largest settlement and custody firms for domestic and international securities. Clearstream ensures that cash and securities are promptly and effectively traded between market participants and that its customers are always notified of the rights and obligations attached to the securities they keep under its custody. Additionally, Clearstream provides services for investment funds, collateral management and securities lending.
Field of activity
The Asset Servicing department is responsible for the Custody and Connectivity products of Clearstream/DBAG. The application landscape mostly consists of Web, Java and C++ applications which are running on top of large customer databases. Frontend as well as backend security is a core concern in all applications due to the daily challenges and requirements of the financial sector.
Tasks/responsibilities
As a member of our experimented team, you will:
- work in cloud based environment, containers and orchestration
- maintain and improve our applications and related frameworks
- review and ensure code quality, code security, documentations
- be involved in all projects’ aspects related to our large application landscape
- analyze requirements; document, design, implement and support the proposed solutions
- propose and take part in architectural design and decisions
- play a vital role to reach our DevOps, Test Automation and Cloud objectives
- take joined ownership and responsibility of the application landscape
- support production, business and performance tests environments
Qualifications/required skills
- Hold a university degree in Computer Sciences or similar
- Professional experience of at least 2 years in software design and development
- Good knowledge of design patterns, architectural principles, deployment approach
- Excellent knowledge of both the Web, Java/JavaEE ecosystem and its tools, any other language is an asset
- Good knowledge with containerization and/or orchestration, application server (i.e. Weblogic, JBoss, etc.) DevOps toolchain (i.e. Git, Maven, IntelliJ, Eclipse, Jenkins), relational/non-relational database technologies (SQL is a must)
- Good knowledge with development of cloud based applications (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Practical experience with an Agile/Scrum development methodology
- Capability to work under pressure for multiple projects in parallel
- Autonomous, openminded, eager to learn and share
- Proficiency in written and spoken English. Any other language is an asset.
