Clearstream Banking S.A.
As an international central securities depository (ICSD) headquartered in Luxembourg, Clearstream Banking S.A. operates the post-trading business – i.e. issuance, settlement and custody – for the Eurobond market and services for securities from over 55 domestic markets worldwide.
Field of activity
Constituting the key vehicle for interest representation, Government Relations acts as the gateway to the political and regulatory sphere. Bringing together an international team of experts on legislative and political processes at regional, national, supranational and global level, the Section designs and implements DBG’s advocacy strategies concerning key regulatory and political issues. Deploying a multitude of instruments, Government Relations leverages DBG’s business strategy by mitigating risks and developing opportunities in the political and regulatory context. The Section provides qualitative and timely information throughout the whole legislative lifecycle to ensure informed engagement, and represents DBG’s interests in associations such as the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE), the Federation of European Securities Exchanges (FESE), the European Central Securities Depositories Association (ECSDA) and the European Association of CCP Clearing Houses (EACH). Coordinating the group-wide interaction with political and regulatory stakeholders, Government Relations is steered out of Brussels and stretches across Berlin, Eschborn and Luxembourg.
Tasks/responsibilities
- Assist in preparation for ongoing topics/projects
- Prepare background analyses, briefings and presentations on policy or regulatory strategy topics
- Undertake capital market, regulation and policy research, amongst others, on new or ongoing regulatory initiatives in Europe and/or on financial market integration world-wide
Qualifications/required skills
- You are enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree programme with a recognized institution focusing on Business, Law or Finance and can provide an internship agreement, OR have graduated with a Bachelor’s degree or similar for no more than 6 months
- You are interested in political and regulatory issues and knowledge of institutions and legislative procedure in the European Union
- You have quick perception, structured working methods and excellent drafting skills
- You are proactive for finding and processing information
- You have a good level of MS- Office applications
- You are fluent in English (written and spoken). German and/or French will be considered as an asset
