Field of activity
Product Development is responsible for managing the operational and financial performance (incl. price levels and manufacturing costs) of the portfolio of Eurobonds-related services. It is also responsible for planning, budgeting and designing new services (aligned with the Eurobonds business strategy) to meet clients’ needs and to oversee their implementation & commercialization, including market readiness, roll-out, marketing & documentation. Likewise, it is responsible to plan and drive the termination of non-performing services where relevant. Product managers also have the duty to analyse information from industry changes, regulatory developments, client behaviours and competitive offerings. They contribute to enhance Clearstream’s presence across industry forums and trade associations to shape public opinion and influence market developments (market advocacy).
The team is organised as per the standard Eurobond lifecycle, with experts managing the following segments:
(Pre-)Issuance services
Settlement services
Asset servicing
Product Development works in close collaboration with Clearstream’s Business Operations and IT as well as Sales & Relationship Management, pricing and business development teams to ensure a proactive and efficient product management & development process. Product Development must also establish regular communication with its peer teams in other product lines to ensure a comprehensive, coherent and transversal approach to overall Clearstream product offering.
Product Development is supported by Product Program Management for the overall maintenance of Clearstream’s products & services portfolio and for other generic, cross-product aspects of the product management and development stages (e.g. ER process management, statistics).
Product Development manages the Eurobonds’ portfolio of products and services during their entire lifecycle, defining pricing structures and distribution strategies to drive & respond to clients’ needs and market evolution.
Tasks/responsibilities
- Source and analyse information from industry changes, regulatory developments, system behaviours, voices of clients and competitive offerings
- Creation and maintenance of products and services presentations supporting Sales/Customers Services in their consultations with clients and prospects
- Identify any service, system improvements that can be developed
- On ad-hoc basis, support marketing plan and go-to-market strategy, with appropriate product packaging where relevant
- Maintain processes and procedures, handle audit items
- Consult with other product teams to ensure a global product vision and coherence
- Liaise with different stakeholders:
- work with IT to clarify business requirements and discuss delivery options as well as associated costs;
- work with Business & financial administration to propose profitable and attractive revenue models;
- work with Customer Services and Relationship Managers to identify our clients’ needs and expectations;
- work with Network Management to manage supplier’s performance and control the external product cost base;
- work with Publications and Marketing areas. Liaise with risk management, compliance and internal audit where necessary
Qualifications/required skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in strategic planning, product management or business development
- Expertise in settlement services
- Customer-oriented
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written)
- Strong analytical skills
- Negotiation skills
- Willingness to build network within the company and externally
- Independent way of working and excellent problem solving skills
- Willingness to learn further on Clearstream products and services and the underlying supporting business applications
- Be a team-player, pro-active, creative, highly motivated person
- Proficiency in written and spoken English, as well as competent handling of MS Office applications round out your profile
- Experience in project management, product management or business development is an advantage
